Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in here...
I've had USR Modems running BBSs for over 10 years now.  I currently
have about 10 analog Couriers and 4 I-Modems online running a BBS using
PCBoard and BinkleyTerm software.     I've never encountered any
situations where they would fail to answer when there is an incoming
call, except for when there was a hardware or software problem with the
computer.
Question: Do you have the software answering with an ATA, or do you have
the modems set for auto-answer?
