I don't have a copy of the macro to which you are referring to ---
sometimes it has to be somewhat complicated. For instance, the set of
four which I use to reformat and requote the text in messages like this
one is 879 bytes long (compiled). The source is approx. 27K long
(w/comments) in its present incarnation.

Some functions are impossible but not this one. Why don't you make the
macro insert an ODD character sequence at the present position and then
you can have it automagically locate it after you return to your file.
If you want to enhance the feature you could also add this sequence to
you user's dictionary (so that the checker would ignore it) and if you
want to live dangerously, have the macro search and delete the sequence
w/o confirmation. :-)))
There is one trade-off; you will loose the original find string for the
search/search|replace function.
I'll leave the fine details for your "more than capable" hands,
otherwise you wouldn't learn anything. :-)
