Hey Maurice!
MK> Excellent. Definetly worth the extra bytes
Just to complete this particular fix wrt gconv-modules, I am including a small
table of legitimate IBM437 aliases below. Note the change in the "tr" call as
the squeezed tab substitution is no longer required when using the "column -t"
call. Instead - in this particular case - I am deploying "tr -d '/'" to delete
the slashes from the end of the fields thusly;
:read !grep 'IBM437//$' /usr/lib/gconv/gconv-modules | tr -d '/' |
column -t
alias CP437 IBM437
alias 437 IBM437
alias CSPC8CODEPAGE437 IBM437
alias OSF100201B5 IBM437
I think this looks much better. I should also mention that I didn't bother
verifying the above information simply because I don't want to. I have
complete confidence in the glibc people on this matter ... until someone proves
otherwise which is highly unlikely given the performance thus far. :::evil
grin:::
Life is good,
Maurice
... Don't cry for me I have vi.
