Hey Nancy! > Since I've been using the offline reader for as long as I've > been actively messaging, I've never done it any differently. Understood. That is one reason I am asking how my posts look to you. Does my last post from the "brits on the beach" search quote okay now? > I'd think that Janis has some sort of offline door that would > have at least QWK packets... maybe you should ask her? There are a number of formats but I chose text since anything I ever use works fine with text. > So if you wanted to track them down for a current event, you > probably could do so. :) I imagine so. Never had any issues before this but posting it to the bbs does have issues with urls longer than 79 characters. When I didn't indent it and posted the url on it's own line I noticed the bbs's messaging dealie tacked on a null character at the 80th position and then carried on the remainder on the next line. All lines are null terminated which is the standard for strings for most decent applications. Somewhat useable in this case but nothing I use will split lines no matter how long - actually I believe there is a limit but well over 32,000 characters - so the original wasn't split. I do preformat so that DOS based offline editors don't crop off any characters but that doesn't always work. Yours seems fine with my evil, demented plan. > No, I was just thinking that the after the fact stuff might > have some sort of contact information in the article, like an > email address or a a website that one could go directly to to > find out about upcoming events... :) I never checked. I wasn't that curious about the actual event given I am not a Brit, don't care about cars, and it isn't on Guy Fawkes Day. The French based "Brits on the Beach" was oddly curious, but other than posting the Google hit here to check if I did that one correctly for your offline thingy, I didn't check that one out either. Should I? What it had to say in the hit was enough methinks.
