We have just switched out our old server which was running 3.12 for a
brand new, very wonderful server
running 4.11, Intranetware.
The problem we are facing is related to our having changed the name of
the new server. Our Windows 95
clients are suffering various problems related to the old UNC paths
which still exist in the Windows Registry.
We would love to find a command line utility that we could run in a
batch file from the container login script
which would find and replace all instances of the old server name with
the new server name. And all without
user intervention. We have been unable to find such a utility however.
As an alternative, I wonder if either
Novell's RegEdit utility or another such Windows GUI based utility
could be run with NAL. We would need
some way to pass it some parameters, specifically which values to find
and replace, as well as perhaps
limiting which HKEYs it addressed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We will be using ZenWorks 2.0.
Thanks in advance,
David Matthews
