I fixed it! I am now running TER500 from my new 6 core Windows7/WindowsXP
dual boot comptuer.
Fourtunally I have a pretty good working knowledge of DOS and Windows and
I had to give it some thought while working on the Windows 7 side of computer
setting up my Ham Radio programs. This computer is a "radio"
computer for use
in contesting and my ham radio operations.
I kept seeing that PKZIP was not in the path so going to a DOS window and
typing the command PATH I see that it was not seeing the ARC directory. A work
around was to place PKZIP in IN directory of TER500 it would still see the
error but unpack the packets.
The fix was to modify the Windows PATH statement so on startup the XP system
sees the ARC directory for a DOS file. I do not remember having to do this
with my current machine. I'm wondering why there was a problem with this
computer, possibly because is is a very advanced machine.
I'm sort of proud of myself for figuring this out! I don't know if any of the
"young generation" computer "geniuses" would be able to
figure this out?
I still have one ham radio program that will not run on this computer.
It blanks out the display and I have to reboot to get out of it. My
STSPLUS satellite program does not work.
