 -= Changes between the Supra 288 1.440-17 and the 1.440-18 ROM Code =-
1)  In Synchronous Access Mode when an EM command was 
    received the modem would switch to command mode and 
    respond with "OK" without sending the EM response
    first.  It now sends the EM response prior to the
    "OK" response.
2)  When originating a call the modem will set the maximum
    projected data rate for the 3429 symbol rate to 33.6Kbps.
    This allows calls to USR modems to connect using the 3429
    symbol rate.
3)  The V.42bis code was optimized to improve the compression
    performance.
4)  When the country code is set to a non-US value Bell mode
    is disabled when the modem is reconfigured to a factory
    configuration.  (ie. &Fn sets B0 not B1 outside the US)
5)  The EQM thresholds that control rate renegotiations to
    higher rates were slightly decreased.  With the v1.440-17
    firmware some lines would ping/pong between a high and
    low data rate, reducing the fall forward threshold prevents
    this.
5)  When bit 5 of S192 is set the EQM connection thresholds
    are lowered, making the modem more conservative when
    choosing data rates.
6)  A problem with the datapump configuration during a V.34
    connection using the 3000 symbol rate at a data rate of
    26.4Kbps was fixed.  
          
7)  A change was made to how MP sequences are transmitted during
    phase 4 of a V.34 connection.  This decreases the chance that 
    the MP sequence will not be correctly received by the remote 
    modem which causes the connection sequence to restart.
9)  The LAPM selective repeat feature (SREJ) is now enabled by 
    default in all modems.
