How about installing an inexpensive Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) with 
it?
UPSs are usually targetted for the computer user, but could find a 
bottom-line model; this would be more than adequate for an answering and save 
you money.   For example, the APC 200-VA 2-outlet model should be available 
for under $100.
