I'm active in COOKING and MEMORIES, and also BLUEWAVE, ASIAN_LINK, and
other sporadic ones like this one, a few other tech support echoes
(where mostly it's really my wizard hubby helping out) and what's left
of the genealogy ones. I read a few others, but don't post.

Most of the ones I'm in are just chatty enough that they don't mind a
bit of straying from topic, as long as there is sufficient interest in
the topic that one isn't just a pain to be there... They also tend
to be "family" oriented to some extent, in that it's more a community
than just a strict discussion of topic... so caring about each other is
considered on-topic as long as it isn't overriding everything else... :)

I guess I wasn't aware of that. :)

I generally have a bottle of either the Glenlivet or the Macallan at
home, to be savored (generally when my brother comes to visit) a bit at
a time. It usually lasts for a couple of years or more... ;) That
brings down the overall cost a bit... at least in the long view of
things...

 > And I keep thinking someday I'll try one of those Irish whiskeys

 MK> For sure.

Maybe if I had the right visitors it would raise the priority... ;)
Or maybe my younger brother would bring me some, were I to express the
interest at the right juncture... :)

... Pain is inevitable. Misery, however, is optional.
