-=> Quoting Jean Parrot to Dan Ceppa <=- JP> Hello Dan, we were saying ! DC> I'm out of ideas. DC> I know that my settings in BW are saved in both my 98 and XP systems. JP> You and I both, that leaves Bruce. I got to wondering... JP> ___ Blue Wave/DOS v2.30 I ran my version of: Blue Wave/DOS v2.30 Check: Setup/Configure Mail Reader Global Memory Swapping Options +-----------------------------------------+ | Allow swapping to XMS memory No | | Allow swapping to EMS memory No | | Swap on shell to Msg Editor Yes | | Swap on shell to Archivers No | | Swap on shell to Alt-Fkey Batches No | | Swap on shell to Terminal Program Yes | | Swap on shell to Spell Checker No | | Swap on shell to Tagline Manager No | | Swap on shell to File Browser No | | Swap on shell to DOS Yes | +-----------------------------------------+ What is swapped is the BW reader's EXE program. I swapped to a Ramdrive: Directories Swap Directory P:\TMP\ Today's hard drives are so fast that you could make this: Swap Directory C:\BWAVE\SWAP\ Read the Help sections on "swapping," then check "Yes" on XMS memory. BW wouldn't use the Swap Directory unless it had a problem with XMS memory. The message editor I use is large enough (DOS WordStar) that I need to swap. It has its' own spell checker / small dictionary. I use Windows, like the old DOSSHELL, to swap to any other program. ___ Blue Wave/386 v2.30 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: BBS Networks {at} www.bbsnets.com 808-839-6036 (1:10/345) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
