Why wouldn't it be compatible? The current USR modems are all compatible with
the Rockwell standard, the Rockwell 56K wouldn't be called x2 obviously, but
it should be compatible, otherwise people are either going to choose one or
another. Incompatibility between the two when they become more widespread
would be a real inconvenience to everybody.
