Not quite the same thing, though some Pharisees would have been hypocrites.
Pharisees were simply people who were very strict in their observance of the
Jewish religious Law, Sabbath etc. Jesus had quite a bit to say about that.
St Paul was a Pharisee (also a Roman citizen!)
If you want to send black people back to Africa, what are you going to do
about the enormous number who are part white? Do you send an octoroon back?
(sorry if that's not pc these days). With so many "passing" over the years,
there must be a large number of "whites" carrying quite unsuspected African
genes.
What will USA do then in the Olympic Games? or boxing?
