If the engine shares oil with the clutch, it's not so good.

Most people went with the recommended extended oil change of 5000 miles
back then. That's not much of a difference from the normal 3000 mile oil
change when using standard oil.

Most synthetic oil change intervals are recommended for around 7000 miles
today. I use Mobil One in all of my vehicles and change the filter at 3500
miles, then the oil at 7000.

Yeup. I know people who don't change their synthetic oil at all, others
who change it just like it was 3000 mile oil.
