AT long last, I got first light! Started the hobby as a teenager, dropped
it until 2 years ago, and finally on friday night I peered through an
eyepiece. Quite the thrill, even if I don't really know how to use the
thing yet. Still learning on the ATM side of things...I need to change my
focuser placement (fine for low magnification eyepieces, but high mag...no
focus) I also want to redesign my spider to something a bit more
convenient and robust. I also want to toss the sonotube and make something
a bit more portable.
And of course, I want to make a larger scope. Another lost to aperture fever!

I'd like to thank the entire list for the constant flow of info. The
wealth of knowledge and trading of ideas here is truly special, and I hope
to be able to pay back some of it with my own contributions in the future.
I'd also like to thank Alan Ward, who did went out his way to ensure that
my mirror was back in time for my mini-familiy reunion camping weekend.
Not only does he do great work, but he's quite friendly and we chatted over
the phone for well over an hour before I sent up my mirror.

Anyways, now all I need is a couple more friends with cars that want to
escape the city for some star gazing!
