An oinker, to be sure. Just for info, go into the Netscape options,
general, I believe, and set images to draw AFTER loading. You still
get the CPU load, but it's over sooner. See if that makes a difference
in perceptible speed.
Leave the '.' and/or '.\' paths in the path statements - they save you
lots of grief. Remember that OS/2 follows the rule of current
directory first then the path (except for .DLL :<( ). Be VERY careful
with the LIBPATH line - you can tune but it can be tricky since there
are occasions when you have multiple DLL's with the same name. Don't
go too farr off the deep end, however, since the system knows what
DLL's are loaded and will not spend much time at all looking once the
program loads. Basically, tuning paths is a exercise in LOAD time
speed, not runtime.
Problem is, Netscape is VERY CPU intensive during draw. Best way to
speed that up is with a faster video card - even my generic S3 is an
order of magnitude faster than the old Trident...
