SL>BM> Kirk Douglas sang "A Whale of a Tale" in "20,000 Leagues ...
SL> No doubt he didn't want to be recorded again!

SL> Must be of a Disney character...but who? Mine is not a Disney character
SL> nor is it a common one.
Um, "I swear by my tatoo" is the last line of the chorus from "A Whale
of a Tale". Never had nerve enough (read: never got drunk enough) to get
a tatoo. If I did, I'd probably have to go with Jiminy Cricket on my
shoulder. Sometimes I could really use his good advice.
SL> I am now hearing "The Circle of Life" in my head. Sad to say, but we
SL> own not even one Disney soundtrack.
Don't feel too badly, we only started our collection a few months ago. I
think "The Little Mermaid" and "The Lion King" are about tied for best.
Don't waste your money on "Rythms of the Pride Lands", it's got nothing
to do with the film, Elton John, or Hans Zimmer.
The interesting thing about listening to sound track recordings is that
my opinion of the best or most effective songs is very different when
heard without the visuals. I thought "Circle of Life" was a much better
piece than "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from watching the film. Now
that I have heard them both by themselves, I understand better why the
Academy Award went where it did. (I still don't agree, though.)
