If Pargeter's (Peters') historical novels are any indication, she'd prefer
the rebel but in this case it would be hard to pick a rebel.

Either that or a fear by the barons that she would continue Henry's
centralization. And one must also remember that the Normans were not overly
concerned about legitimacy and instead believed in power.
