On the other hoof, maybe I am way off base, here.  Like, mother nature
can certainly be pretty harsh at times, eh?  Far as that goes, we also
won't consider how harsh the Great Moose of the Old Testament was...

Ah, come on now!  You sure you're not just miffed because Charles was
a relation?  It's not as if evolution is a prominent theory.  The way
you talk, why you'd think that it was also a prime example of a
scientist developing a theory to fit freshly observed facts, in other
words of prime example of the Scientific Method in action.   ...Er,
wait a minute while I dredge out a few bits of vaguely remembered
tidbits from science classes.
