Probablt for the same reason that an auto-BP machine doesn't work too
hot in an MICU, road noise.    Although I haven't tried one yet, I'd
imagine (due to the operating theory) that it would not only amplify
pulse noise, but road noise as well.  It might be more labor-intensive
that palping a BP, but it just may be worth a try.
BTW: I have actually heard BP's while in the rig, but only when it's
stopped, not while it's moving.  Plus I was using a Littman Cardiology
II scope and not the el-cheapo's that most squads buy for the bags.
