 DuH!!!  and changing to the correct directory helped as well.  Thanks, I now
am a happy camper... err at least for a little while. :)

 Second question though,  I have long been a fan of Virtuosa for Windows, with
it's ability to rip, play and burn music to cdrom coverting my mp3 files to WAV
files on the fly and normalizing volume at the same time.  Is there anything
like that out there for linux without running a dozen different programs to do
this?
