Methinks our esteemed chemist doth complain overmuch.  LOTR:TTT is a bit less than a
travesty and it does bear resemblence to the story as told by Mr. Tolkien.

I've discussed the 'problems' I've had with the movie before (see below), but it was
overall extremely well done.

(the stupid 'float down the river and dream' scene... Jackson's Faramir
making exactly
the /opposite/ choice of what to do with Frodo, Sam & Gollum than
Tolkien's Faramir...
Treebeard having to be 'tricked' into making war on Saruman... elves at
Helm's Deep...
the movie ending nearly 2 chapters before the book does...)

The treatment of Faramir was the only thing that really disappointed me.

I've read that the 'Extended Edition' DVD due out in November (about 3hrs 50min)
expands on several things...Merry/Pippin & Entdraughts and expansion on
the Boromir/Faramir dichotomy amongst others.
