Raw sockets isn't really a feature of the type I was thinking about. I was
considering things more like HTML email with scripting, auto execution of
attached content like when I would post a midi file and it would autoplay
in someone's newreader, automatic verification of an encryption sig where
it goes out to the web and talks to another machine without asking first,
etc.
