I turned on my pager one evening just in time to hear a fire dispatch
of a second-alarm fire at an address close to my great-grandmother's
house, only to figure out after a few seconds that the address was
HER house! Naturally, I was out the door immediately. Her tennents
had to be taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation, but she wasn't
hurt and the property damage wasn't extreme due to some fast action
by the first-responding engine crew, stationed half a block away.
