Hello Lee i just look at my IBM booklet my is only two years old and in
the booklet it say a code of 17XX Hard disc error
make sure hard disk cables inside are connected firmly
make sure hard disk settings are correct
Of course you do know you are in the qmodem conf
And if you can not get to the configuration utility to check setting
then check warranty which i take it yours friends is long expired:)
