GS>I've never had that, although I had one nurse complain that the IV I
GS>stared was "too big" and in the patient's ACF, not in the hand as they
GS>did in the hospital. How big was "too big", 18ga!
It's funny that you also mention this. There was one ER RN-boss who
actually posted a sign in the EMS equipment room of their ER stating
that NO ONE but a trauma needs anything bigger than a 20g, since you can
actually give blood through a 20g. Anything bigger is considered just
plain barbaric. Well, I'd like to see them do a rapid 500cc fluid
challenge through 20, not to mention pushing d50 through it.
GS>before walking off and mumbling over his shoulder that we still should
GS>have immobilized her.
Docs, go fig.
GS>Hey, sometimes cold fresh air can be very bracing! You should have asked
GS>her to take off her clothes and step outside to see if she liked it.
GS>When treating this type of patient, or any sick person for that matter,
GS>we try to bundle them up as much as is possible, not the opposite. Let
GS>the hospital staff worry about taking off their clothes in the nice warm
GS>hospital.
Ya know, she was kinda cute, hmmmm.....
