Then there were my friends and I on opening night of _Red
October_.... sigh. The follies of youth.

Nope. Sam Neill played Vasili. Hugo Weaving plays Elrond. Hugo
was also in _The Matrix_, as the chief "bad guy" agent.

Yeah, I hear that....

Mom wants to replace some stuff in the house, including a couple
of sinks (kitchen and bathroom) and redo her kitchen, but (as
always) it's all about money, especially now that she's retired.
I told her there are a lot of very easy things we could do to
brighten up the kitchen without being expensive (taking down the
faux-brick on the walls and painting them a light color, to begin
with), but she's not convinced.

No, nor are Lowe's.

I did too, though I think I preferred Alan Rickman. Watching
_Galaxy Qwest_ back-to-back with _Dogma_ and _Sense and
Sensibility_ will blow your mind, though. :)

I've thought about painting and stenciling a beautiful bookcase
my godfather made for me. It's made of different types of wood,
so staining it won't work as well; the woods will take the stain
differently. I've thought about painting it a sort of delft-blue
and stenciling seashells in cream. (I have an ocean theme in my
living room--or do when i have my own living room, anyway.)

I had boxes I never unpacked until i was getting ready to move
again, 2 1/2 years later. :)
