It's a bit tricky.  Given that you're only concerned about certain characters
corresponding to Swedish and German, then that makes it much easier.  The trick
is to know what 8-bit charset to convert to and so-called latin-1 has been
misidentified as iso-8859-1 by many (too many).  From what I've seen from the
Windows crowd it probably is cp1252.  BTW latin1 is iso-8859-1.

If you want a conversion to utf-8 let me know which characters and EXACTLY
which 8-bit charset you actually use.  I am guessing cp437 and that one is
missing some of the characters required for Danish, such as the slashed 'o'
character in Møøse for example.

That is because Benny used msged which grunges the codes.  Regular text editors
don't despite the fact that they cannot display them properly.  They do quote
them properly though unlike msged and golded.
