My record was when I ftp'd Java from IBM's Hursley site. A massive 32
byte/second before I aborted the transfer. The entire Internet is getting
jammed rather solidly these days. Even a file directly from a mirror site on
my ISP's machines runs about 4.5K/second -- the same file via Fidonet and
it's less loaded systems came in here at 5.4K/second with a connect that was
1333 bps slower.
