RL> The Deluxes are kinda rare, but BF Bassman heads are quite common and
RL> fairly cheap. You still have to get a cabinet, but the amp's there.
Actually, what I'm thinking of doing is getting the schematic for a
Blackface Dual Showman head and building it into a head and make a 4x12 slant
cab for it with Carvin 12 inchers.
Do any of you guys have the schematic for the Blackface Dual Showman?
Also, do you have the dimensions for a Marshall 4x12 slant? Also, think I
should use Carvin Vintage 12s or the British 12s? Actually, which would be
the closest to Peavey Sheffeilds, because when I played a Dual Showman
through a Sheffeild loaded 4x12, the tone was SOOOOOO sweet. The Peavey cabs
are basically Marshall dimensions, right? And can I order Sheffeilds from
Peavey?
Also, where can I get the boards for the point-to-point wiring? I plan
on doing this just like the real thing and that's basically the only thing
I'll probably have trouble getting. Trannies, caps, resistors, tubes, sockets
and stuff will be easy to get since my friend/bandmate Neal's friend works at
a shop repairing amps and can get the parts for me from the salvage bin.
Oh, about the transformers, what are the specs on what I'll need for a
Dual Showman? Unless it's already there in the schem, I'm going to put a
switch coming from the output tranny to switch speaker impedances. I just
need to know what kind of voltages, ohm ratings, and such I should be getting
off a tranny. I really have a bug for this setup and just CANNOT find
the Dual Showman schem on the 'Net. Thanks guys. If you happen to have
it, but can't scan it, photocopies will do. I'll pay for that and mailing
costs if you want.
