DAL - You said the tide watches do not indicate the height of the tides,
the watch i bought (PVC band), states on the case that it  came in, that
it displays height and direction of existing tides.. 
I decided to get the PVC band, so i could save a little money and so i
could get more things for my boat. I'am glad that i did not buy the 
stainless steel one, besides i don't like those bands.  the watch that 
i have now has the PVC band, and all the watches that i had before had 
plastic bands.
