OK How many P4 3Ghz systems come with a low power rating where fans only
need to come on every now & again? I'd be happy to buy a Laptop board
etc (or a Mobo/cpu based on laptop tech) & fit it into a desktop
system. High power consumption, heat , noise...wires... all these are
things I don't need.
WRT Cost....it's not the absolute speed as most of the time it's well
within tolerances now (333Mhz & 96 MB ram). I am not looking for a
brand new laptop. This one served me well for a long time as a NT4 laptop.
However I've noticed in various 2nd hand PC shops (eg. Cex (Computer
EXchange) in Leeds) they have well specc'ed 2nd hand laptops for about UKœ
500. My choices are:
A) To find one with firewire/USB2 built in. B) To find a PCCard
USB/Firewire adaptor for the existing laptop.
