That is where all the utf8 characters are which suggests to me that Archlinux
hasn't patched their coreutils package wrt utf8.  Not really a big deal if you
aren't planning to use any of the coreutils apps for utf8 purposes.

At present I am using coreutils-8.25-i18n-1.patch which I got from the Linux
From Scratch people.  They list
http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/coreutils.git/tree/ as their source for
their i18n patch.  I can confirm that it makes a difference when using fold for
utf8 word wrapping purposes.  I don't use it often but it is something that
gets a workout every now and then.
