I find it handy sometimes to check out how people or programs code
webpages.  I'm sometimes hunting various images embedded in pages, which
could be icons or tiny little gimmicks for example.

You can single-click on a message _if_ and I'll reapeat that, _if_ you have
already selected the message view option to "off".  It's on the
TB menu, View-->Layout-->[ ] Message Pane F8.  Leave the tick box
empty.  It's a trade-off between simplicty & security.  The only way
then to view messages is to double-click them or right-click, and then view
it some other way (I still like separate windows) even though the tabs are
in operation.
