Default user permissions might be another topic. SUSE Linux is a bit weird
in that it lets you set up mountpoints for your other partitions (FAT32 in
my case), once everything's installed and you're logged on as a normal user
(with icons for the FAT32 partitions on my desktop no less,) you cannot
access these directories because of the mount permissions on them. A normal
user would not have been able to "fix" this. (and even I had to
root around in the docs...) I've never had any other distribution do this
though...
