Yes, take the easy path Luke...

Why try and use 4k blocks? Turn on block sub-allocation and let the 8k
blocks be the way to go. I know there is a technical answer as to why the
server runs out of memory and cannot mount the drive (probably due to not
enough directory cache space?) but if 8k blocks work good then why not go
that route. I mean, this is not an Ultra SCSI system so what noticeable
difference will there be for the end user?
