This seemed to have something to do with our discussion, so I'm forwarding it to you... ;) Particularly Mark's response at the end... == Forwarded Message Follows ========================================= * Originally By: mark lewis * Originally To: Dale Shipp * Originally Re: packet sizes * Original Date: 10 Nov 09 19:49:55 * Original Area: [Fido]- Cooking * Forwarded by : Blue Wave/DOS v2.20 > There is no (Y)our Settings on the HTML version, just QWK settings > which doesn;'t allow changing the packet suze. and i haven't had a > telnet client for many years now so I can't get in that other way. FWIW: no version of telnet is "brain dead" WRT downloads... telnet is a text only medium... in the *nix world of telnet, you generally telnet in and then, when you want to transfer binary files, you start sz (send zmodem) on that end with the filename and then on your end, you may have to start rz (receive zmodem) to actually get the file... we, in the DOS world, are very spoiled in this aspect and are not used to using seperate channels for file transfers (or much of anything else, for that matter)... )\/(ark ! Origin: (1:3634/12) ====================================================================== So, it would appear that there is a zmodem for *nix? ttyl neb ...
