FWIW: no version of telnet is "brain dead" WRT downloads...
telnet is a text
only medium... in the *nix world of telnet, you generally telnet in and then,
when you want to transfer binary files, you start sz (send zmodem) on that end
with the filename and then on your end, you may have to start rz (receive
zmodem) to actually get the file...

we, in the DOS world, are very spoiled in this aspect and are not used to using
seperate channels for file transfers (or much of anything else, for that
matter)...
