| subject: | DIGITAL VS ANALOG |
-> Most I know either have the converters, or digital ready -> sets, or don't give a rip about a tv. We don't have a -> television, so we never got a converter . There have been periods in my life when I went without television for a couple of years at a time. I felt no sense of loss, as I had other things keeping me busy. But I will confess that in recent years I have become addicted to a few mindless situation comedies that provide 30 minutes of light amusement. A friend of mine did better than just feeling no sense of loss, though. He did a few turns on the DEW line, above the Arctic Circle, away from TV, radio, sunlight, fresh air, and so on. He had a large stack of books sent to him, spent his spare time reading, and went on to make a fairly good living as a science-fiction writer when he got out. --- PCBoard (R) v15.3/M 10* Origin: (1:226/600) SEEN-BY: 10/1 11/200 331 14/400 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 187 140/1 226/0 SEEN-BY: 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 285 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 SEEN-BY: 2222/700 2320/100 105 5030/1256 @PATH: 226/600 123/500 261/38 633/260 267 |
