Am still having problem that maximus will not find the max.prm file, is 
looking for it in etc/max.prm, no matter where I put max.prm, and with 
rw-rw-rw permissions. :-(

Will look at your initab file.

Am busy building a system I can dedicate to just maximus/squish, just need 
some mounting brackets for the HDD's to mount them in 5 1/4 flopy drive bays, 
then I will see if that will improve things. :-)
