I had to grocery-up there on Friday and made a point of looking at prices.
I was surprised, as a quart is now priced at $6.75 and the 5 gal jug at
$24.50...

As is the case above. There's probably a small difference in shipping to
CA vs TX...

I used to have them change my oil, but stopped that practice when the oil
change price went over $36...

We get a small discount from O'Reilly's at my friend's shop, but I don't
take advantage of it because Wal-Mart is still cheaper.

I'll bet that's been a while. I don't remember it.

There's nothing wrong with using that oil, as long as they do a good job
of cleaning and refurbishing the additives. I'd use it in a high
mileage/oil consuming car for sure.
