Hey Janis!

For sure.

Funny that you didn't run across it in OS/2 since it got much usage there,
perhaps even moreso than on DOS. I think I stumbled across it roughly in
93-94ish. Early 90's sometime. Only used it on DOS though. Didn't bother
much with OS/2 myself and made the leap from DOS to Linux. Been well over a
decade since last seeing qedit.

From what I see in the micro-emacs I am guessing it is close if not exactly the same.

> If so, and if she's running linux she should try the joe editor

She is using DOS. An older micro-emacs from the sounds of it.

We'll see. I still haven't done much about testgrab.zip other than to
figure out what I might do about linux-ing the idea up. Once you let me
know what the upload packet should be named I'd be happy to give that a
try. As is the downloaded testgrab.zip's format looks like it will be
suitable to the evil, demented plan although it would be nice to ditch zip.
 ;-)

> Here's a look a the nodelist files since August,

The two I noticed lately claimed they haven't had anything to do with Fido
in over a decade and are just restarting again.

> Ok pretty small compared to the "old days"

For sure. However I still maintain that the true health is in BBS's
userlist and not in the nodelist. I am doing my part by supporting your
BBS. Now I expect that eventually you'll return the favour. ;-)

Offlning is the answer. Your web interface times out too soon for
messaging and the telnet interface isn't cooperating with my plan. The
solution looks to be in testgrab.zip methinks. I have it working with wget
and ncftp. I am thinking of using perl and it's ftp module just for fun.
That potentially could be portable if it already isn't a done deal. I did
note that bbbs is cooperative with perl which makes this idea interesting.

Life is good,
Maurice
