Oh yeah, from a scenery point of view, the first movie was spot-on.  At
three hours it seems a bit long, and I can see how the cuts and alterations
made were necessary to speed up the pace, increase the tension and ensure
that it wasn't a six hour movie.  The entire Council of Elrond verbatim
isn't really required, and I don't miss Bombadil at all.

The second movie, now...
