Web page design is _one_ thing...System _abilities_ to "absorb" any/all Web
pages at source of distribution is a another thing...and end-user system
consideration is a third concern...
In today's Web environment, ISP's who design the home pages for their users
are slowly coming around to learning that l-o-n-g designs tend to sap-up
System resources unnecessarily. It's _now_ considered prudent to have several
components available for downloading and to let the User "assemble" at their
end. This leads to freer resources at the ISP that become more readily
available to more Account Holders at any given time...and _reasonable_ online
charges for Users.
BTW, I read with interest your comments regarding the 3-months that it took
for "them" to come up with a(n unsuitable) page design for you. Incredible !
Any Web designer that takes that long has just got to be just getting his/her
feet "wet" in the business: this is simply a matter of a poor ability to
auge
timely deliveries to customers. HOW "they" stay in business when timeliness
s
a critical factor for success at a time when this "cottage industry" is
_already_ undergoing a filtering-out effect would be (most) interesting to
study. IMO, "their" 3-month time-to-delivery is an _insult_ and shouldn't be
tolerated - the same considerations to be used even if the product wasn't
digitally-based but some "off-the-shelve" physical product from some
(wholesale) distributor.
