Thank you - you are a gentleman and a scholar.
While I have you on line, you recently guided me to a firmware upgrade to the 
Optima 288 v.34/v.FC+Fax modems that I have.......and while this firmware did
help the problems I ran by you at the time, it seems to have added some new 
ones.  Every once in a while now, I have to turn the modems off and back 
on.....kind of like a hardware reset, in order to restore proper performance.
Is this a known issue, and is there an even more recent firmware upgrade?
