Can't help you on "xlib or Yakicons??" but I can on WGT4..

WGT4 is a Shareware offering from Barry and Chris Egerter
(Canada).. It is extremely extensive, covering many specific
functions including Sprites, 4way Scrolling, World Maps, SoundBlaster
routines for Voc Wav etc., File Handling, Drop Down Menus,
Virtual Screens, EMS access, FLI Routines, Special Effects, a
graphic printf function(great stuff), Image transfers &
manipulation.. Supports GIF, PCX, BMP and others..

WGT is limited to VGA 320/200*256 Res which is perhaps it's
achilles heel, however it's limitation is also it's own source of
excellence..

If WGT4 is not on your local BBS, look for WGT3.5 and give that a
go.. WGT4 is on Softtech BBS (Brisbane) and is available for freq
as far as I know..

If you have trouble getting hold of this product, get back to me
as I could post the Shareware Version down to you if required..

Another Graphic Library (Although not specificlly games oriented)
is TGE. (latest Version is 1.32) which covers all resolutions and
is worth a look if you wish to venture into high res
programming.. It is VERY fast and has Virtual Screen access..
