I was afraid you'd say that.

Sounds like a missing Makefile in smapi. I'll have a looksee at what I
have here (source).

You could upgrade to 3.81 but I doubt it is a problem. I've use 3.80 for
ages without any issues.

I'll try and replicate what you're doing here. Where did you get the source from?

I think they may be missing something. Try using the regular smapi source
from the Husky people as it should work and you wan't need libsmapi-dev
since all the needed smapi stuff will be onboard once you compile and
install it. Also make sure that /usr/local/lib is in your /etc/ld.so.conf
and run 'ldconfig' as root to make sure everything is fine there.

FTD> Also renaming huskymak.cfg to Makefile. Nothing new.

You're missing something in your smapi.

Just get the smapi and huskybase CVS versions and see if they behave
themselves first. You should only have to do 'make' in the smapi directory
with huskymak.cfg in the direcory below it. Thus when you're in the smapi
directory a "ls ../" should report that huskymak.cfg is there. A
simple 'make' will tell the tale.

 FTD> Thank you again, Maurice.

You're welcome. Let me know where you got the source if there still is a
problem and I'll try it myself and see what happens. I got the last source
I am using from the Husky Sourceforge page. It works here but I haven't
checked beyond fidobase, smapi, fidoconf hpt and msged.

Life is good,
Maurice
