Hey Shawn!
SH> Do you have webebashing working on the 7" now?
Not yet but am planning to do so soon. Basically all I have done wrt
WeBeBashing is to ensure that all the current utf8 files etc. can be displayed
with the new font. I was going to wait until the weekend to start an offline
messaging thingy using a slightly modified WeBeBashing to accomplish that. As
is WeBeBashing has some FTN formatting to facillitate compatibility with my
uplink(s) which isn't really needed for a purely offline text messaging dealie.
SH> I thought you were going towards using it for displaying logs?
I thought that was the potential future rasberrypi with the 5" display. I
already had an Atom based system with HD etc. graphical/sound capabilties wired
to the 7" and have already tested playing mp4's. It seems reasonable that a 7"
might be used to replicate a tablet-like system given that they usually sport a
~8" monitor and thus text messaging would be a good thing to get working on
there. No?
SH> In this day and age the Arabic is probably more important to not
SH> make a mistake on.
Yeah. At the moment I have no Arabic text files onboard. Also I believe there
will be formatting issues with both Arabic and Hebrew that cannot be resolved
following standard operating procedures for text messaging. Seems to me that
they alternate between left to right and right to left for reading their text.
I can see that playing real havoc with word wrapping.
Life is good,
Maurice
