Don't bother with debian/ubuntu packages. Grab the source for crashmail and
compile it yourself.

"dragging in Husky and all it's excess baggage" - there is not much excess
baggage, as you say. Using CVS to grab ALL will give you a bunch of crap you
don't want. If all you want is the tosser (hpt), and a file tosser (htick),
then all you need is huskybse, fidoconf, smapi, areafix, hpt, and htick. All in
one package, right there. 

BTW, TinyTIC is complete garbage, and if you do plan on feeding other nodes,
TinyTIC will not regenerate TIC files and send to downlinks.
