subject: ATM FigureXP & Monte Carlo, Still Killing Time

Greetings All,

Well, I'm still killing time waiting for the Interferometer results (btw, got an
update that said it should be complete in the next few days...)

Towards the goal of Killing Time, I've been working on adding the Monte
Carlo simulation functions to FigureXP. Getting real close to having a
beta version for anyone that's interested in playing with it...

In the mean time, here's a couple screen capture's I could use some criticism on

http://lerch.no-ip.com/atm/2ndTry/FigureXP_MC_0024.jpg (103KB)
http://lerch.no-ip.com/atm/2ndTry/FigureXP_MC_0056.jpg (109KB)

Things I'm concerned about:

#1 Y labeling. Currently this is simply the total for each vertical bar graph
that is at or above the line, and then divided by the total iterations (is
iterations the correct term?) Basically this is a Percent total label, but
can this also be used for a percent confidence label?

#2 Still need to work on user setup for the MC run, which I have 3 ideas for.
    A) User can manually enter any StdDev they want

    B) If more than one data Series exists (Maybe that should be more than 2?)
Figure XP can calculate the average standard deviation total for all Zonal
KE readings

    C) Same Idea as B, but the MC routine would use the ACTUAL StdDev for EACH
zone in its calculations.. My thinking behind this option is often certain
zones have a much higher Stddev than other zones {Like central zones for
Robo}. Perhaps this method might produce a more 'realistic' result.

#3 How many iterations should I suggest the user do? In my experiments, I've
noticed that after about 5K iterations, things pretty much calm down. At
the moment I have two ideas to address this issue
    A) User enters number of iterations

    B) User click Start, waits around till He/She is bored then hits Stop.
(BTW,
current code updates the graph every 100 iterations, and IMHO its kind of fun to
watch

One Final thing I have to add "My Thanks and Appreciations to the list
members and others!" I'm not smart enough to do these projects on my
own, so I sincerely extend my appreciation for everyone's comments,
suggestions, and criticisms! I must say, these are some pretty exciting
times!

Take Care,
James Lerch
