Who can tell me exactly what model the following indicates?

I was told that this is an M7F, but the frontplate / switch cover says
'Automodem E7F', and there's only a line RJ socket (no phone).  Underneath
it says Model no. SM7711.

Any advice on the following current setup would also be appreciated: it
arrived without a manual, though I'm promised a 'booklet' with commands
etc.
