RA> How can i get my FTP Proxy and port NO#?
       I like to use this as a spring board to ask people in here a question
which is important to me.  I like to know if there is any software available
out there for 286s that would allow me to be able to use FTP.  Now as far as 
i know is that in order to use FTP is that i have to go online and go to a 
bbs system or a provider with the internet functons to use the FTP.  But is 
there any programs that would allow me to be able to connect to FTP without
having to use a provider?  I mean that is the one thing that i am unhappy
about this whole internet thing.  Everyone has to spend major bucks to get 
he
right connections to get on the net or to call up a provider which costs

per month to use the internet.  And not everyone can affoard a new computer
like myself so we are left out in the cold.  So does anyone know if there are
any type of software that can be used on a 286 to allow me to call or use FTP 
like i use my communications program to dial up numbers to bbs's where it is
free and easy.  I know that the answer is probably no but i think that is the
one thing that bugs me about the new stuff that is out there.  Since you 
gotta be rich to be able to enjoy most of it.  And by the time things become
affordable that everone else is way ahead of you with newer stuff.  But that
is the world we live in where people just need to make newer things that is
more exspensive, and less available for people.  And not to mention thousands
of people that are left in the cold because of lifestyles that prevent them
to catch up with other people.  That is why i am not to much into this 
internet
thing since it really is destroying other areas that people enjoyed the

experience from.  The internet is the beginning of a new way for people to 
communicate and i am all for it but when it costs you tons of money.  I 
ather
just live life with what i got and though it is not the intnerent it is 
nough
to enjoy.
